Free Publicity For Your Landscaping Business

Regardless of whether you are just venturing out into the business world or already have a successful company, budgeting your expenses will help to improve profits and the overall health of the business. The largest expenses that a landscaping business has are advertising and the cost of equipment. The prices associated with a print advertisement can be significant, which is why a growing number of business owners are turning toward an alternative way of spreading the word about their landscaping business. With a company that provides local services, such as landscaping, it is more important to reach a local audience as opposed to a national one.

The most common way to generate free publicity for a landscaping business is through a press release, which is distributed to local newspapers, magazines and trade publications. Whether the landscaping business has an actual storefront present, is home or web-based, this option may have a positive success rate. In order for a press release to be worthy of publication, it must feature some type of news. A terrific example would be a grand opening, the launch of a new website, a free landscaping project contest or similar newsworthy event. A photograph of the business owner would make a nice accompaniment to any press release and may even grab the editor’s attention. Press releases can be submitted via mail, e-mail or fax and should be directed to the editor’s attention.

Many businesses, including those that provide landscaping services, often choose to have a website. Although the internet does provide for national exposure, many local customers may surf the web for landscaping information. A website should be professionally designed, regularly updated and feature plenty of landscaping example photos to showcase your ability. With a website, the free promotional opportunities are unlimited. From press release submission websites to article marketing and search engines, there are plenty of ways to get the word out about your new web presence.

Just as there are a number of ways to generate paid advertising, there are even more ways to obtain free publicity for your landscaping business. Most local companies will find paid advertising works most effectively in the telephone book’s yellow pages, but may also find limited success with newspaper and/or radio advertising. The main problem with the latter is that newspapers are often discarded quickly and most people do not have a pen handy when listening to the radio in order to write down a contact number. When you reduce the advertising costs and increase profits, your company’s bank account will begin to glimmer just as much as the dew on a beautifully landscaped lawn.

Valet Parking – An Added Safety Feature For Any Business Or Event

One of the biggest fears of anyone in America is being a crime victim. Even though, statistically, most people have very little chance of being assaulted, mugged, robbed, etc., the fear of something like that happening weighs heavily on their mind, and it’s a constant factor. Rising crime rates can destroy an entire neighborhood in a few short years. They can also leads to major changes in the political landscape in a city or state. Of course, it goes without saying, that any business that is in the news repeatedly because their customers have been victimized while patronizing the store or event is going to have a serious public relations problem on its hands. That sort of thing can kill a business, and it doesn’t take long, as word spreads fast.

But that doesn’t have to happen to your place of business. One way to not only help prevent crimes from happening to your customers, but also help put their minds at ease, is by offering valet parking services. Many people have the mistaken impression that valet parking is merely a luxury, a way of pampering the well to do who feel like they are too good to park their own cars. Nothing could be further from the truth!

Valet parking is a lot more than a luxury. And one of the main reasons to offer the service is safety, and peace of mind. Having to make a long walk from a parking lot to the place of business can leave a customer vulnerable to being robbed or assaulted. And even though you may reason that there’s no reason to be concerned because there’s never been a crime on your property, your customers still worry about these things. Especially women who are alone. Especially at night. But you can give them peace of mind, and make your premises safer, by offering valet parking services. It may cost a little, but it’s a bargain when it comes to making sure your customers feel safe!

Ryan Tole owns and manages Advantage Parking of Dallas, Texas. Advantage has been providing parking management services for quite some time in the Metroplex, and their clientele list reads like a Who’s Who of North Texas. They have the experience and resources needed to make the parking at your business or event hassle free. So contact Advantage Parking today for Dallas valet parking service!

More Ways To Make Your Business "Greener"

“Going green” is one trend we’re happy to see becoming more and more popular. Even if you are still uncertain about global warming, practices that can make your business greener can also save on your bottom line.

Here are more simple ways your business can help lessen the impact on the environment and potentially save a dollar or two.

Reduce and Reuse

Some may not consider plastics to be earth-friendly because of the way they are made, however, with certain business supplies plastic might have the advantage. For instance, you can purchase paper file folders that have a percentage of post-consumer waste in them, but unless you also recycle those when they’ve served their purpose, they will likely end up in the landfill as opposed to another file cabinet. As an alternative, you can purchase plastic file folders that can be reused over and over again, simply by using peel off labels on them. Three-ring binders are another product that can be re-purposed many times before their usefulness comes to an end. These can be purchased at almost all the larger office supply stores.

Such items like staplers, scissors, drawer and file organizers, tape dispensers and more can all be purchased recycled and serve you for a long time.

Try the Recycled Products Cooperative at http://www.recycledproducts.org as a source for all your recycled office needs.

Rethink

Many offices now are going paperless. That is, they’re forgoing all the usual forms of paper creation such as memos, faxing, invoicing, etc. All these things can be done via electronic means now. A paper-driven office can enjoy more organization as well as less waste by converting to electronic files.

Re-purpose

Does your office receive magazine subscriptions? If so, what do you do with the magazines once everyone has read them? I happened to find a great little article on different ways to reuse magazines here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/83785/6_ways_to_recycle_old_magazines.html

Recycle

Just about every town has some sort of recycling program for items such as paper, plastic, aluminum and glass. Recycling at your place of business might seem like a hassle, but consider the advantages of recycling:

-Saves on natural resources

-Reduces landfill waste

-Saves energy (it takes less energy to make recycled products than it does new ones)

Another thing to try is to rotate recycling responsibilities in a company. Each week designate a different person to take on the duties.

Finally, try calling your waste management company to see if they already offer a recycling program for your area.
